Knight without horse & armour
No, not these knights.

The Knighthood of the Brewers’ Mash staff is the direct descendant of the secular Guild of Brewers. Faithful to their traditions, Belgian brewers organise festivities every year to pay tribute to Gambrinus, the ‘King of Beer’.
Knight? Horse and armour? Not these knights, their weapons are water, malt, hop and yeast. Honorary knights are individuals who have rendered loyal services to the brewing profession. They are invited to be a part of the knighthood and become a true ambassador for the Belgian Brewers.
"Honorary knights are individuals who have rendered loyal services to the brewing profession."
During a ceremony specific to the Knighthood I was the only woman in 2014 to be enthroned to the Knighthood. Pledging alliance, being knighted with the big wooden mash staff and toast at the end with the Knighthood, I did it all! It was amazing and such a great honor.
